PROTO currently communicates with a remote PC via serial cable for its operational instructions. Research from PROTO will be used in the development of a fully self-contained humanoid robot platform (commercial version).

Our researchers have developed a dynamic toe-joint
integrated with multiple sensors, which offers an efficient human-like gait. Research
in optimized bipedal gaits using sensory feedback
provides researchers’ designing intelligent
prosthetic limbs with new insight on human balance.
This system is incorporated in our humanoid
platform PROTO-2 and is controlled via remote PC. The research from our humanoid platform
will initially be available to researchers,
students and institutions partnered with ARSL.
Future applications of this technology include,
but are not limited to research, medical and
consumer based robotics.
